Anime Breaker Tier List (September 2026): Best Companions Ranked
The complete Anime Breaker companion tier list for the Hero Passives update — every unit ranked S to C per zone, plus how to get and build them.
Companions are your damage multiplier: they fight alongside you, their stats scale into the late game, and the Hero Passives update gave the best ones extra passive effects. This tier list ranks companions by rarity, the buffs they provide to your team, and overall synergy — updated for September 2026.
How do we rank companions?
Three factors decide placement:
- Rarity and base stats — rarer pulls have higher damage and HP contribution.
- Team buffs — companions that passively boost your whole squad outrank selfish damage dealers.
- Zone relevance — each zone has its own companion pool; a C-tier unit in a late zone can still beat an S-tier from Alien Planet.
Zone 1 — Alien Planet tier list
The starting zone’s companion pool comes from the Alien Card roll and from capturing enemies:
| Tier | Companion | Rarity | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Hidden Potential | Mythical | Alien Card / NPC drop (avatar 0.1%) |
| A | Namekian Warrior | Legendary | Alien Card / NPC drop |
| B | Strongest Human | Epic | Alien Card / NPC drop (avatar 5%) |
| B | Master Inventor | — | Alien Card |
| C | Namekian Healer | — | Alien Card |
Hidden Potential is the pull you want before pushing out of Alien Planet — it’s the zone’s Mythical and the strongest unit it offers. Namekian Warrior (Legendary) is a fine substitute if your early rolls miss. The B-tier pair are serviceable fillers, and Namekian Healer is only worth a slot while you have nothing better. The header image is the actual Alien Card roll interface — Hidden Potential (Mythical), Namekian Warrior (Legendary), and Strongest Human (Epic) are all visible on the card.
How do you get companions?
Two sources:
- Alien Card rolls — 50 Gold per spin in the starting zone, with Auto Spin for bulk rolling and a Legendary pity at 500 spins (the pity counter shows under the card). This is the primary route, and it’s where the 750+ free Emeralds from the active codes should go.
- NPC capture — defeated enemies can drop their avatar directly. The View Drops panel on each enemy shows the odds: Hidden Potential’s avatar drops at 0.1%, Strongest Human at 5%, and avatar drops are flagged “Drops Only Once”. Farming the same enemy repeatedly is the free-to-play path to filling gaps.

Later-zone tier rankings are still being verified — each new zone ships its own pool with its own internal ranking, and we update this page per zone as drops are confirmed.
Team-building basics
- Fill every team slot before upgrading — three B-tier bodies out-damage one lonely S-tier.
- Prioritize companions with team-wide buffs over raw damage when both are available; buffs scale with your Energy damage, described in the beginner guide.
- Luck potions from codes raise your roll quality — pop one before a rolling session, per the potions guide.
- Once you can push into the next zone, do it — a new zone’s common units often outclass your old zone’s rares.
